Nutritional Yeast Flakes

Nutritional yeast is yellow in color and with a nutty cheesy flavor, its an inactive yeast that is a favorite amongst many vegans because of its unique flavor and similarity to cheese when added to foods. Its rich in B-complex vitamins and B12 which is one of the rare vegan sources of B12.

Where To Get It:

Nutritional yeast can be found at Bulk Barn food stores or health food stores. I've even seen Bob's Red Mill Brand which is gluten free sold at Fortinos Supermarket Be sure you don’t get brewer’s yeast by mistake, as its quite similar in appearance. It's best if you store your nutritional yeast in the freezer to keep it fresh.

Avoiding Dairy for Health Reasons:

Did you know that an ingredient in cheese that is called casein is the same glue substance that beer companies use to glue their beer bottle labels on with? Please see this video called Milk The Deadly Poison;

Avoiding Dairy For Humanitarian Reasons:

The suffering that animals endure just for someone to have a piece of cheese or glass of milk is unimaginable. Please see this video called Meet Your Milk;
